Creating art is a personal journey for me. Each piece is
unique and thought provoking. Individually crafted and
infused with Potent Reiki Energy. My paintings and sculptures
express alternate realities and possibilities through gateways,
doors and thought patterns. I do not recreate reality; I express
the possibilities that reality is only limited by our imagination. If
I am successful my work will emanate this energy and pull the
viewer inside, even if just for a moment. My sculptures are an
extension into those alternate realities, bring that view or
thought form into the present reality.
For me, art is not always created through conscious decision
making. Many times inspiration takes hold and the next thing I
know I have created a framework that I only need to fill in. The
how and what I use to create the piece depends on what I
have around me that best defines the finished work. I have
many notes and sketch ideas of pieces as inspiration does not
work on queue. I work on these flashes of genius as time
permits. Many times, I paint on wood, opting for the physically
heavier presence. Something about the density and weight
give it another layer of meaning enforcing the emotional weight
behind the painting. As for a medium, always prefer to paint
with acrylics. The body, texture, vivid color and quicker dry
time allows me to produce a mix of effects ranging from the full
body of oil to the soft subtle spread of color produced by water
colors. When I produce texture and effect I truly feel like I can
step into this world I have created and bring it out of my head
and into reality.
Currently, I am working on some new journeys. My
explorations are reaching out into other natural experiences
such as birth art and stone sculpting. Creating beautiful
personal expressions of the experience of life.
